Earth Day in CARACAS

The non-profit VITALIS and the University of Metropolitana Caracas invited a representative from Earth Day Network, Petya Yordanova, to be part of the Earth Day celebrations and to raise awareness among Venezuelans about the importance of Earth Day and environmental protection around the world.

The visit began on April 21st with the presentation of Earth Day Network’s international program at a press conference in Venezuela’s capital, Caracas.

The main event was held on Earth Day, April 22nd, at the Aula of the Botanic Garden of Caracas. With the support of Bayer and Botanic Garden Foundation, youth groups from 15 different universities of Venezuela presented their environmental projects and made a commitment to the Citizens of the World program, coordinated by VITALIS since 2002. The program now counts with 400 members committed to the conservation and defense of our planet.
