Earth Day in Nigeria

The Waste Management Society of Nigeria (WAMASON) Earth Day celebration was intended to inspire awareness of and appreciation for the environment. It is has been recognized that littering is an urban menace that has not been given enough attention in this part of this world.

For Earth Day, WAMASON launched a public-awareness campaign encouraging citizens to stop littering and educating them on sustainable practices. With this celebration we call on all ‘to recognize and respect Earth’s beautiful systems of balance.

The participants called on the Lagos State Government to support environmental policies as part of Earth Day Network’s global Call for Climate.
